Wholesome Fish

Wholesome Fish was born around 1987 from the meeting of Gordon Pollitt, Derek Richardson and Jon Davison in Nottingham. We played old-time folk from North America, Britain and Ireland, the way we wanted to play it. Raw and practically unarranged. The band expanded over many years, becoming one of the city’s major music phenomena, gigging nightly and never abandoning our busking and pub session roots. Over the years, many talented musicians became part of the Fish family, producing several albums on cassette, vinyl and CD, touring Ireland and Germany in particular. The band reformed in later decades and the occasional gig is still played.
