Music

My favoured instrument is my iron-framed piano built for a 5-year-old, which is appropriate, since I've been playing music since the age of 4. Currently accordionist with ceilidh duo, Rhythm of the Floor, and formerly accordionist with Wholesome Fish and Orkestina, my main styles are British/Irish/American and East European Folk, as well as Music Hall and Classical.

L'Orkestina

L’Orkestina was born in 1997 from the meeting of Colum Pettit, Jon Davison and Ivan Dimitrov on the streets of Barcelona. We shared our musical heritages and knowledges and taught each other the music we wanted to play: Klezmer, Bulgarian and other co-territorial styles from the Balkans. Over the years, many talented musicians joined us. During my own time (until 2003), we were regulars on the streets and music venues of our adopted city, and around Catalonia and the rest of Spain, recording three albums:: Soul of Europe; Jewish Gypsy; Transilvania Express.

Wholesome Fish

Wholesome Fish was born around 1987 from the meeting of Gordon Pollitt, Derek Richardson and Jon Davison in Nottingham. We played old-time folk from North America, Britain and Ireland, the way we wanted to play it. Raw and practically unarranged. The band expanded over many years, becoming one of the city’s major music phenomena, gigging nightly and never abandoning our busking and pub session roots. Over the years, many talented musicians became part of the Fish family, producing several albums on cassette, vinyl and CD, touring Ireland and Germany in particular. The band reformed in later decades and the occasional gig is still played.

Clown music

Now and again I've combined clowning and music.

Clog dancing

I started dancing with Camden Clog around 2008. We dance the steps of the Tracey family from East Lancashire.
