Experiments
Clowning, improvisation, theatre
On this page are past projects which were mainly experimental and exploratory, with the collaboration of students.
"Laugh Portraits" (2003)
Three video portraits of people laughing at themselves. Self-ridicule is one of the best ways to make others laugh and is the basis of clowning. Trying to laugh while looking at yourself in the mirror is one of the best ways to make yourself laugh. A false laugh makes you seem so stupid that it provokes a real laugh. And a real laugh, well, does the same. A video by Jon Davison, co-Director of the Escola de Clown de Barcelona, with Marga Socies, Helena Otaegui and Alba Pujol. Filmed in Barcelona, 2003
"Uncle Vanya" (1996)
A workshop performance by first year acting students at the Institut del Teatre (Barcelona) in June 2005. The performance came at the end of a three-week workshop in clowning with Jon Davison.
