Shows and performances

I have created and performed so many clown performances over the decades that it would be impossible to include everything here. So here are some selected shows that are meaningful to me.

Friday Flop

The unique monthly show ran for four years until lockdown hit, at Rosemary Branch Theatre with London's international clown company, Citizens Of Nowhere.

NOt A Real Horse

Inspired by the early equestrian circus, which brought together acrobats, clowns and horses. 2 clowns and 2 acrobats came together thanks to Fifi, the panto horse, which all four inhabit. Pushing the boundaries of panto horse art.

Clown solos

My ongoing attempts to find my own true style: solo, mainly improvised and very risky. It's been evolving and devolving for quite a while... probably ever since I started performing. It's been seen in various forms, some successful, some complete failures.

Companyia d'Idiotes

Formed in Barcelona after meeting in 1993 at the École Philippe Gaulier in London, producing a string of full-length shows both experimentally daring and hugely accessible throughout the 90s and 2000s, at the forefront of the city’s clown revival.

Music

My favoured instrument is my iron-framed piano built for a 5-year-old, which is appropriate, since I've been playing music since the age of 4. Professionally, though, the accordion has been my companion in British/Irish/American and East European Folk, as well as Music Hall and Classical. See here for clog dancing, too.
